Adult websites to be monitored

The British government want to ban sex website from the internet. They want Broadband firms to block sex websites in order to protect children. We all agree it’s important to protect children. But ban internet sex? It would be madness as it’s such a big part of a lot of people’s lives. Men and women use internet sex site for lots of reasons. Maybe they are lonely or they just en joy it.

Now the government wants BT, Virgin, TalkTalk and other internet providers to change how adult website can be accessed and to make us register on the 'opt-in' database for internet sex. Who will monitor that once you’ve ticked the box to say, Yes, I want to use internet sex, this will kept safe and the data will not be communicated to someone else?

Internet service providers are to be asked by the government to tighten up on website pornography to try and make sure kids can’t access the sites.

The British government believes broadband providers should automatically set all sex sites to forbidden access and individuals will be required to "opt in" to be able to access them, rather than "opt out" or use parental controls software to block these sites. This is all good for the government but I can’t really see how this will be put in practice and I certainly hope that we will be able to access the entire internet from the UK and that includes sex websites.

The new regulation comes in advance of the proposed convergence of television and the internet.
The government would like to see internet service providers come to a solution rather than be forced into it by legislation.

Some surveys suggest that one in three children aged 10 in Britain had seen pornography on the net. It clearly shows that it’s important to monitor children when they use the internet but not to start banning sexy websites for other adult users. Some people do not have companions or any other means of sexual distraction and they rely on the internet to access videos and images that they enjoy in an adult way.
